CGTP-IN in solidarity with the demonstration of PAME JULY 11

Dear Comrades,
It is with active and fraternal solidarity that, on behalf of the workers we represent in Portugal we extend to PAME our strong support and wishes of success in your important demonstration.

As you announce in your call for mobilization, the Greek government, the E.U. and the IMF are bringing in a new bill for the implementation of the antipopular policy in favour of big business. Among other:
They are aiming at giving a new hit in the sectoral wages, benefits, pensions
They discuss the abolition of the five days working week and the abolition of overtime payment.
They discuss to release dismissals
They discuss the abolition of Sunday as a day off!
They prepare to dismiss the strikers without compensation.

Dear comrades,
As you know, in Portugal, the exceptional general strike that took place on 27 June 2013 against the policy of national disaster pursued by the government was the expression of the powerful stream of protest and struggle against the “austerity” measures that aggravate the exploitation and impoverishment of the workers and people.

The CGTP-IN and the workers are redoubling their efforts and mobilizations against the “troika” Pact of Aggression, for a country with a future, for a Portugal of justice and progress, independent and sovereign.

Portugal, its workers and people do not accept to continue being submitted to a government which serves the large economic and financial groups that have been destroying the national economy and ruin the lives of thousands of families.

There is an alternative! Like PAME and the Greek workers, we will intensify our struggle of the masses for demands in the work places and in the streets, strengthening the unity of purpose of all workers, to finally defeat the neoliberals and their austerity policies and build the much needed and urgent political left-oriented and sovereign alternatives for our respective countries.
